It's always driven me crazy trying to find bassists to sub for me, or to help others find players for their own gigs. As a bassist, I don't meet many other bassists at gigs - when was the last time you saw a band with TWO bass players? So I thought that if I could get as many working bassists in Colorado to have their information in a list here, we'd have access to a wonderfully diverse pool of players - as well as other musicians who are looking to hire us. After all, it's not as if you can go through the yellow pages looking for someone to take your gig, is it?
So the idea is simple: If you're a bassist in Colorado (and we'll include Cheyenne and Laramie if you're willing to travel), and would like to be included on this list, send me an email with all of your contact info, and the kind of thing you'd like a prospective employer-for-a-night to know. As long as it's something that I'd feel comfortable letting my nine-year-old niece read, I'll post it! C'mon, bassists - let's get some gigs!

Yes, I do studio work
Hey all,
My name is Alex Scott, I'm a bassist from nothern Colorado. I play primarily jazz and funk, but can and will play anything. I've got all my own equipment and a small home studio. I have extensive live and in-studio experience, and love playing with anyone. I'm underage, so playing 21+ venues can be an issue. But don't let that stop you from hiring me! :-) Thanks for your time!
peace,
alex
